Kryptonics rider Kent Lingeveldt sent us over this video and some photos from the Red Bull Dirt Circuit in Durban last weekend.
“I remember seeing an event like this on Facebook that happened in the Czech Republic not too long ago and thought I would love to skate in an event like that. Then just over two weeks ago I see that Red Bull South Africa and Peg Skateboards out of Durban, South Africa are hosting this event called the Red Bull Dirt Circuit at the Giba Gorge Mountain Bike and BMX track in Durban, and know without a shadow of a doubt that I had to be there! Revolution Skate Supply Co., the distributors for Kryptonics in South Africa, made it possible for me to travel halfway across the country and make the event. I took two boards, a short pool style deck with Indy’s and 70mm blues and my longer freeride board with Navigator Drones and 75mm blues. I thought the shorter board with a smaller wheel would be better for acceleration, but after not feeling that great after Saturday’s practice, I opted for the bigger board and wheel for the Sunday racing and it seemed to work better. We races round-robin with points being tallied after a round of racing with eventually me having to battle it out with two other riders for the final eighth semi-final spot out of 40 riders as we all three ended on the same amount of points. I ended came a close second in that race-off and ended with a 9th overall. Awesome event with tight racing shows again that the Kryptonics STAR*TRAC is up there with the rest of the wheel market.” – Kent (South African Kryptonics Global Ambassador)
