Recently RVCA commissioned local artist Wesley van Eeden (Resoborg) to do a mural for the new Zig Zag Offices in Durban.
Local artist Freddy Sam was commissioned by the Maboneng Precinct in Joburg to paint a mural to commemorate Nelson Mandela, as a gift to the city. The mural is ten stories high and is based on the photo below, which was taken by Bob Gosani. It took Freddy Sam four days to do. Apparently is it based on Mandela’s definition of “Ubuntu” i.e. “You cannot be human all by yourself.”

The Wall Therapy festival took place between July 18th and July 28th 2013 in Rochester, New York. 32 artists representing 11 different countries were present at the festival, including our very own Faith47, DALeast and Freddy Sam.
South African artist Freddy Sam has been working with the City of Philadelphia Arts Program and students from Sayre High School. He painted this mural called Together Moving Mountains in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. Nice one Freddy!
