On Friday 12 July, Revolution, in collaboration with RISE Fanzine, hosted a screening of ‘American Hardcore; A History of American Punk Rock 1980 – 1986′ at our woodstock store in The Woodstock Exchange. The night was a huge success, and everyone had a good time. Roastin’ Records had an amazing selection of vinyl records on sale, and Bolo’bolo anarchist infoshop and vegan cafĂ© set up a table of ‘zines, books and super tasty vegan baked goodies. We also tried out an honesty bar for the first time. A huge thank you to everyone who came through for the screening. New friendships were formed, cupcakes were eaten, conversations were had, and faith was restored in the Cape Town hardcore community. Think it’s nonexistent? Think again.
