Jean-marc Johannes tests out the new Almost “Uber Light” deck, the most technically advanced skateboard deck in the world.
Limited to 500 worldwide.
Deck inside a Deck: This was developed by Rodney Mullen and C.L Composites. After experimenting with many different layups, they arrived at a method using an actual deck within a deck. The internal carbon fiber foam deck is ultra light and nearly as stiff as metal. It acts like rebar, or a skeleton embodied by a standard 7-ply layup. It also vastly improved the lateral rigidity. The deck wears, slides, and looks like a normal 7-ply, but its lighter and has a supernatural pop last lasts far longer than any normal deck.
Balance is at the very heart of design in anything that spins, flips or flies. By reducing weight and adding rigidity (particularly laterally), the deck reacts more quickly to every movement while flipping faster and more precise.

SKATE FARM KLEINVLEI JAM
Revolution is a proud sponsor of the Kleinvlei Park Skate Jam.
Unsigned skaters living it up in the Mother City are all welcomed to join in the celebrations taking place at the Kleinvlei community skate park. The SkateFarm Park Jam is a free skate comp open to all unsponsored, amateur skaters.
Prize handouts for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and best run of the day.

Kleinvlei Park Jam – Format
– Indemnity forms for riders under 18 to be completed and signed by legal guardians at least 2 days before event
– Judges – Lee Henriques, Charl Jensel, Andrew Nero
Registration (09:00 – 12:00)
Followed by a 1-2 hour open park jam for all registered riders which will precede the first elimination round.
(Crowed entertainment) / Announcement of advancing riders – 15 minutes
Round 1 (13:30 – 15:00)
Successful riders’ will each receive two individual 1min runs on the park. The aim is to make use of the entire park and drop big tricks and technical lines. The best run of the 2 determines which riders advance to the next round and which riders will be eliminated.
(Crowed entertainment / Demo) / Announcement of advancing riders – 15 minutes
Round 2 (Semi Finals) (15:30 – 16:00)
Riders who advance to this round will each receive 1 individual 1min30sec run on the park which precedes the third elimination round. The best 6 – 8 riders will then be chosen for our final round.
(Crowed entertainment / Demo) / Announcement of advancing riders – 15minutes
Round 3 (Finals) (16:30 – 17:15)
This is the last chance for our final cut of riders to showcase their skills and earn the number 1 spot. Each rider receives one 2minute30second run on the park. The 3 best riders on the day will be announced as the Kleinvlei Park Jam winners.

Rules
– No sponsored riders are to compete in this event.
– Registered riders will receive a bonus sheet, listing “Red Zoned” obstacles/areas at the park which will result in bonus points for riders attempting tricks on these sections.

– Style
– Crowd reaction, &
– Use of the park
– Prizes for 1st 2nd 3rd place and best trick/run of the day
